Excitement was in the air at Darling Harbour in the early evening of the 25th of March.

Over 200 guests gathered for The Girls & Boys Brigade’s Trivia Night. It was a night of fun & games, as we were joined by fabulous trivia host and drag queen, Hannah Conda.

21 teams battled it out and the room was filled with much debate as teams hotly discussed the correct answer to questions like “Which country is named after its ruling monarchy?”. After three exciting rounds, Team ‘Facial Hair Without Care’ were declared the winners!

Spirits were high and our guests enjoyed catching up and making new friends over canapes and the delectable two-course meal.

We were joined by two special guests throughout the evening, Trisha and Nurjhan, who have both attended the Brigade since Kindergarten.

Trisha, who recently graduated from the Brigade’s programs, amazed the audience with her rendition of ‘Rooting for You’ by London Grammar. She shared with everyone how she started at the Brigade shortly after moving from Norway with her mother. She shared memories from going on camp and making lifelong friends, to how she’d gained valuable work experience and received help finding her first job through the Brigade’s Youth Program.

Later, Nurjhan blew us away with her rendition of James Brown’s ’It’s a Man’s World’. You can find recordings of both girl’s songs on our Facebook page.

Amongst the exciting games & entertainment of the evening, guests participated in the live & silent auction. Bidders eagerly competed to win a weekend away in Port Douglas, a limited-edition John Olsen print & food and accommodation experiences around Sydney.

It was an incredible evening for the sell-out event.

Thank you to our incredible supporters and guests who helped raise over $87,000 for children and youth in need. What an amazing achievement!

Thanks to your support, we can help future children and youth access opportunities that will grow their skills and nurture their talents.
