Thanks to supporters like you, our first camp of the year was a sucess.

A dozen of our Year 6 students attended a three-day, two-night adventure camp in June at Pearl Beach on the Central Coast. The children had been full of excitement for weeks leading up to the camp and it did not disappoint. The camp was full of activities, laughter, escapades, fabulous food and wonderful weather.

Despite it being called a camp, our children and staff stayed in a lovely four-bedroom house. This blew the minds of our children, many of whom described it as a ‘mansion’. Though little sleep took place from all the excitement, the house was full of laughter, dancing and excitement all weekend long.

Amongst the activities of the weekend, the children played laser tag, watched sunsets at the beach, hiked in the national park, enjoyed a ferry ride on Brisbane Waters and even went ice-skating.

“The children’s favourite activity were laser tag, ice skating and playing social deduction games,” said Mr Stu, a Program Coordinator who helped organise and supervise the camp. “However, the hike through the Brisbane Water National Park was the most rewarding activity of the camp. Despite being very challenging, the children were delighted with a stunning view of the Hawkesbury River at the end.”

The weekend camp was a phenomenal and unforgettable weekend for all the children. The staff were amazed by the children’s willingness to try new experiences. It was a fantastic opportunity for our children to experience areas outside of Sydney, explore nature, participate in activities they wouldn’t normally get to try, and bond with their peers and our staff.

Thank you to our supporters who ensure children and youth will continue to grow their confidence and discover new experiences on future camps.
