Hey GBB kids!

This page is just for you, to keep connected with us while you’re at home and show us what you’re doing.

If you’ve done or made something fun at home, take a photo and email it to tracy@girlsandboysbrigade.com.au or stu@girlsandboysbrigade.com.au and we can put it on this page! And if you have a pet you want to show off (living and breathing or from an arts and crafts activity), send through a photo and we will post it on the Children’s Dashboard.

Make sure you check with a parent or carer first. Remember that only children enrolled at GBB can see this page.

Welcome Back!

We hope you are having a great start to term 4 and are loving being back at school with all of your teachers and friends. We can’t wait to see you throughout the term as schools return to face-to-face learning. We are excited to return to all of our normal activities at the GBB. At the moment we are preparing for Halloween!

Train Trips Around the World
Train Trips Around the World

At the GBB we have put together some great toy train tracks recently! We even recreated the Sydney Trains network which included the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Wynyard, Central Station, the GBB and much more.

As we all stay very close to home, we thought it might be fun to explore some incredible train trips that the world offers. Virtually of course. There are lots of fun and scenic options including; Peru, Switzerland and Japan.

Or if you wanted to check out one of the world’s most famous subway systems, why not take trip to New York City! Did you know that New York City’s Subway system is famous for its very talented buskers playing music, dancing and a whole lot more? Click the link below to see some fun subway performances.

How to Make a Cheap Terrarium

We made terrariums at GBB.  Maybe you could try?

Have a look at this video and see if you can find things to use at home?  An old glass bowl?  Some gravel from outside?  You don’t need to use the activated charcoal, just see what you can find and have some fun. Time to get creative and make something very fun and impressive.

Children’s Updates
Margad and Anar

Margad and Anar have been making the most of the current Sydney lockdown, checking out Botany Bay, playing some games online, pulling faces, opening deliveries from GBB and roller blading within their 5km radius.

Caitlin and Alana

Caitlin and Alana competed in an in-house Lego competition. The winner received a bowl of lollies. From the photos, it is clear to see Lego was the real winner!

Staff (and pet ) Updates
Miss Tracy and Scooter

Hi GBB Kids!

I’m at home isolating with my cat Scooter (when I work at home, Scooter is my boss, and a bossy boss at that).

This is Scooter, he’s pretty cute, but also a little bit naughty.

Below is Scooter’s FAVOURITE toy. Even though I’ve bought him lots of fun things to play with, he prefers to sit in this box, chew the sides off and flick them on the carpet for me to clean up 😂

But I still love him 😊

Emma and BamBam

Hi GBB kids,

I’ve been working at home this lockdown with my puppy BamBam.

This is Bam. At 13 years old, he’s quite old but he’s still a puppy in my eyes. He’s very lazy and loves cuddles A LOT. He likes to sleep next to me while I work.
Sometimes I drag him out for walks. It’s good exercise for the both of us, but I have to carry him after 3 km.
Here’s a pic from an adventure we went on last week.

Best,
Emma

Mr Bill and Lenny

Mr Bill and Lenny have been on lots of lockdown adventures. They have been down to the water. Lenny is very scared to get in the water (he must take after Mr Bill). And Lenny has also had many visits to the vet, one time resulting in wearing a double neck cone! Obviously Mr Bill and Lenny were made for each. The love is real, and similarities are uncanny.

Mr Stu and Tilly

Mr Stu and Tilly have been spending a lot of time together lately. Tilly has been trying to break Mr Stu’s heart with cuteness, and has come mighty close on many occasions. Tilly is a Norfolk Terrier and is tiny, but with the self-confidence and adventure of a much bigger dog. Tilly loves zooming around, being cheeky, biting things she shouldn’t bite and rolling all over the place. Tilly always looks forward to her daily walk to the local coffee shop where she gets a lot of attention for being so damn charming and beautiful (something Mr Stu can certainly relate to).
